FMARS-9 Crew Biographies
Jason Held
Jason Held is an Army Captain in Space Command, and has deployed all over the world to support military space missions. He was a lead instructor at the Interservice Space Fundamentals Course teaching satellite design theory, propulsion theory, and orbital dynamics. Educated as a computer engineer, Jason worked hardware-software integration on the Wide Field Camera 3 portion of the Hubble Space Telescope, as well as biomedical engineering projects. Jason participated as a volunteer in the original ramp-up and mission design for the Flashline Mars Arctic Station and Mission Support and was the engineer for the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) Crew-20. He is now a PhD student in Aerospace and Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Sydney’s Australian Centre for Field Robotics (ACFR), with interests in orbital mechanics and cooperative robotics. |
